Design & Construction
How do you manufacture the units?

Over the years we have come to the conclusion that there is no simple "off the shelf" solution. Every client has a specific need or requirement and when you are relying on external contractors you are not working to your timeframe but to your contractors. We made the decision very early in our business cycle to bring as much of the production in under one roof as was practical.

This not only gave us control over all aspects of production it also enabled us to ensure quality at all stages of production. We cut out the middleman - but more importantly we understand our products. Large volumes, small volumes or anywhere in between we are geared up to internally produce a cost effective high quality solution.

The kiosk enclosure:

In the manufacturing process we use digital fabrication machines which allow for tolerances of +/- 0.2 to +/- 0.4. For our standard range of kiosks we use a quality Australian (best steel in the world) made black carbon steel and then finish it with a baked powdercoat surface.

Our fiberglass units are hand layed within multipiece composite moulds to ensure every seam is accurate and perfect. Finally, our stainless steel units are constructed from polished #304 or #316 grade to ensure it is well protected in any corrosive environments.

The PC:

Most other kiosk manufacturers will simply use an off the shelf desktop PC - we see two problems with this: Firstly it is a desktop PC and is designed to sit on or under a desk and get airflow around it - by putting it in another box (the kiosk enclosure) there is not sufficient airflow which leads to premature component failure. Secondly the quality of the internal components - desktop PC's are built to appeal to the mass market and as a direct result are usually price driven and therefore the internal components are not designed for the rigors of industrial usage.

We carefully select tier one industrial components (i.e. top of the range in their respective areas), these Components are mated together and then rigorously tested to ensure compatibility, they also have to meet stringent requirements in terms of temperature resistance, resistance to vibration, and electromagnetic radiation. The chosen components are then fitted to our openframe chassis, which is designed for optimum cooling and extended component life expectancy.

TouchMate Industrial PCs all carry the c-tick mark, are checked for electromagnetic compatibility, and are FCC certified. .

The Touchscreen:
We use either a touch technology, which comes out of Europe or 3M's capacitive solution - it is more expensive but it is quality. We fit this to an open frame LCD monitor to offer you the best possible touchscreen solution. We could fit in a cheap Chinese made touchscreen and save a few hundred dollars but with touchscreen's you get what you pay for i.e. buy cheap get cheap.
Build support:
Every major component that goes into our kiosk is tagged and recorded, this enables us to track that component through its lifecycle which in turn enables us to offer the proper support on your kiosk.

In conclusion:

We have seen lots of kiosks - some built locally and some imported and through our observations we believe that you will not find a better value for money kiosk range on this planet. Feel free to come into our showroom and see for yourself.
